Due Process: Justice by Youth, for Youth
Over three years ago, a group of youth and adult allies began working toward realizing a common dream together.
Recognizing that LGBTQ issues continue to be invisible and/or silenced in today’s classrooms, they set out to create a comprehensive curriculum project to make the invisible more visible. And they also hoped to ignite deeper dialogue on what it takes to create schools that are safe and inclusive for every student, across all experiences of identity.
Today, you can be a first-hand witness to the realization of this dream. Hot off the press, Ally Action is thrilled to present Due Process: Justice by Youth, for Youth and the Equity Action Kit: Change Thru Action! |
|
Due Process is an intensive 5-hour lesson that engages students in critical thinking skills and conflict resolution. Through a youth-adult partnership framework, this youth-led curriculum is set in the context of a mock trial stemming from a fictional hate crime at school.
