Don't Erase My History

"If we don't define ourselves for ourselves, we will be defined by others - for their use and to our detriment." -- Audre Lorde

Ally Action is thrilled to help make history with the launch of our groundbreaking documentary film Don't Erase My History!

This new youth-produced resource is ready to bring to a school community or legislative office near you!

Thanks to the support of a Youth Digital Filmmakers' grant from the California Council for the Humanities,* nine local youth leaders were able to capture their journey exploring their own stories of (dis)connection with their own LGBTQ history.

Ally Action was selected as 1 of 8 grantees in the state to secure this award, and was honored to premiere a rough cut screening of Don't Erase My History at the prestigious Los Angeles Film Festival.

Don't Erase My History is also being screened at several
other prominent film festivals in 2009, including:

The film is now in its final format, and will be accompanied by a curriculum guide for use in classrooms across California and beyond.
